I’m not talking about real muscles here. What I mean by that is for you to “train” yourself to be confidence.

If you don’t know yet, like everything else, confidence needs to be develop. Confidence needs to be trained so it will grow stronger. People don’t be an expert in something overnight. You can’t be a pro golfer in a day even if you have Tiger Woods coaching you! It takes training, training, training.

So how do you train your self confidence? How do you improve your confidence “muscles”? Well In this post I will share with you a few tips you can try right away. And by the end of this article I hope you will learn something, take action and start your confidence “workout program” right away.

1. To start training your confidence is to train your mind. Look for your inner voice and find out what is the reason for your low self-esteem. Do you keep repeating demoralizing thoughts about yourself in your mind? Stop it! Remember, identify the inner voice and stop the demoralizing thoughts.

2. Use affirmations. Stand in front of a mirror with your best outfit. Look at your reflection with confidence and say it out loud, “I am the best, confidence is my second nature” and then say, “I love challenges, they bring out the best in me”. Say it with confidence and beleive in what you are saying.

3. Confidence can be easily destroyed and unfortunately hard to gain. There are times when your confidence is at peak. Do you still remembers them? Is it when you won your first competition? Perhaps when you are graduating high school? Whatever your confidence moment is, you can relive them once more. Open your photo album and find the photos that would bring back your great memories.

4. Eye contact is one of the most important qualities that confidence person have. If you want to be confidence you have to train yourself to look at another person’s eyes. It can be intimidating at first but once you do it, you will find it becomes easier. The trick here is not to look like you are a mad person. Just maintain eye contact for a few seconds and then look away. Train yourself to look at a random strangers eyes as often as you can.

5. Greet and talk with at least one person a day. It can help you improve your self confidence. Be friendly and approach random person just to communicate with them. Maybe you can start with that old man at the bus station or talk with your office’s tea lady. You’ll be surprised to hear some interesting stories from them and at the same time building your self confidence.

6. Practise to speak clearly with confidence. Learn to throw your voice when talking with person so that they can hear what you are saying verbatim. When I say throw your voice doesn’t mean you have to shout at someone’s face. Just make sure the words that come out of you mouth is clear and loud enough.

7. Last but not least, whenever something bad happen to you, tell yourself to look at other people who are in the worst situation than you. Someone who are a lot less fortunate. If you are looking at peoples above you, you are just shooting yourself on the foot. If you think you don’t have enough money, try to think about other person who doesn’t even have food or shelter. Make it as a motivation to improve yourself and building your confidence at the same time.
